Five Iconic Looks From 1995 Cult-Favorite Film, Clueless; And A Style Guide To Channeling Your Inner Cher

With 90's trends back in fashion, it is no wonder that classic 90's film, Clueless, gets a nod of approval from fashionistas everywhere. Cher's enviable closet may not be totally realistic (most of us get ready sans outfit finder), but here is your guide to some good finds that are fresh takes on these nostalgic looks.
These matching plaid ensembles may be the most memorable look from the movie. These best friends rule high school and their fashion sense is preppy-meets-cool. This wool blend jacket from the newly launched Erdem x H&M collaboration brings plaid coords from geek to chic. Pair this with the Manila Stuart Weitzman loafers and you are in business. If you really want to get into this look, you can add a pair of cute, mid-calf to knee high socks. Finish off the look with the gorgeous 14 karat Dorado Diamond Necklace by Everett. This circular pendant is lined with five tiny, floating diamonds that were assembled in New York City with only the highest quality, ethically sourced diamonds and recycled gold.
Amber has a very distinct style as Cher's main nemesis throughout the movie. Channel her look with these contemporary twists. Swap out her black feathered coat for this navy blue version with black trim from Topshop. Berets have been making comebacks everywhere from Rihanna to Bella Hadid to Dior and beyond. These updated versions give Cher and co. a run for their money. As if. I love the contrast on these affordable white boots with a black toe cap from Zara. This outfit will look great with a pair of skinny leather pants, or distressed denim. Complete Amber's inspired look with Melroso's own adorable Leather Flower Choker made with soft cowhide leather and sterling silver flowers.
As Cher pokes fun at ex step-brother/love interest, Paul Rudd, she rocks a sheer blouse over a white tank. Sheer was everything in the 90's, just as it is today. The ruching detail adds another trend that has been seen all over the red carpet lately. I have opted for this beautiful ruched top from Dolce and Gabanna. This bustier blouse is a sexy update on Cher's old school look. I've paired this top with the luxurious flared velvet trousers from Nissa and a pair of barely there Manolo Blahnik Estro Ankle Tie Stilettos. This romantic look is topped off with the Lace Link Choker by designer, Luv Aj. The statement silver choker takes a page from Cher's playbook with her statement necklace.
Another majorly iconic look from the movie; Date night. This date goes from bad, to worse, but thankfully Cher's outfit can hold its own. Red is the hottest color for Fall, especially fire engine red. Make a bold statement like Cher (bad date not included) with the two-tone shantung dress by Staud. I love the color blocking of this dress and it feels simple, yet interesting and feminine all at the same time. Staud is an LA based brand that focuses on classic silhouettes inspired by vintage designs. These Gianvito Rossi feather-trimmed patent leather pumps are ultra glamorous and channel all of the feathers found in this movie. For those cold nights, this faux fur Alexa Chung leopard jacket is key and can be worn dressed up or down. Finish this elegant look with the Scattered Gem Drop Earrings by designer Luiny, encrusted with Swarovski crystals.
If there is one thing to take away from Cher's style choices, it is how to look polished and professional without sacrificing femininity. Sustainable brand, Reformation, offers the latest fashions in limited runs. I am obsessing over their Tramell dress that feels very Cher-esque. Mix and match fabrics and prints by pairing the pinstripes with the satin Aquazzura Dorado Over-The-Knee boots. School girl gets a sassy edge with the Fendi Back to School mini backpack. Finish the look off with the Paris Ear Climbers by Melroso.
